URW & Ministry of Sound Group to open The Ministry Shepherd’s Bush at Westfield London

Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield (URW) and Ministry of Sound Group today announce the signing of an agreement to open The Ministry Shepherd’s Bush, a new concept combining workspace, a multi-studio fitness offer and a rooftop bar and restaurant, in the space currently occupied by House of Fraser department store.

Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield will begin construction later this year on the 115,000 square feet of space which will open in Q1 2024. It is a ground-breaking example of repurposing a traditional anchor department store into a fresh and dynamic offer, incorporating world class workspace, hospitality and fitness where members and the public can work, workout, network and not work – all under one roof.

Ministry of Sound Group Chairman Lohan Presencer said: “Ministry of Sound has a long history of creating experiences that disrupt the norm and exceed all expectation,
in nightclubs, music, live events, fitness and more recently workspace. We launched The Ministry Borough Road in 2018, a unique flexible workspace combining offices with co-working, meeting rooms, fitness studios, event space, a sound studio and a vibrant
food and beverage offer. The first Ministry has been a huge success, reaching full occupancy within its first year, and we are very excited about our second location and this partnership with URW, where we are going bigger and bolder.”

URW UK Chief Operating Officer, Scott Parsons, said: “We’re really excited about this partnership with Ministry of Sound at Westfield London, adding yet another vibrant
and innovative offer to one of London’s greatest destinations.”

The Ministry Shepherd’s Bush is an all-round working and living destination:

Work: State-of-the-art flexible office space for over 1,200 people with bespoke private offices, accommodating businesses from start-ups to global corporations. Hotdesking

Workout: A cutting-edge health and fitness offer with multi-disciplinary studios, industry-leading classes delivered by some of the UK’s best fitness instructors,

Network: An impeccably designed event space and meeting room suite with the latest technology, available to hire for events and gatherings of up to 300. London’s latest
and greatest destination for conferences, product launches, panel talks and meetings. Members across a range of industries will also be able to connect via The Ministry app to collaborate on projects and build relationships.

Notwork: A dedicated members bar and separate public-facing 150 cover rooftop bar & restaurant. Open all day, every day, perfect for weekend brunches to late-night

The Ministry Shepherd’s Bush follows the opening of The Ministry Borough Road, one of the most popular places to work and network in London. It is the latest venture from global entertainment and hospitality
brand Ministry of Sound, which opened the doors of its eponymous south London nightclub in 1991 and has built itself into the world’s largest independent music company as well a multimedia, events and experiential business.

The Ministry signing joins a number of workspaces at URW centres and developments globally, highlighting their flagship lifestyle destinations integration of new uses, and the growing need for shared and co-working space, as well
as mixed used use developments more broadly, providing direct community benefits within its properties.
