The Italian stars you need in your Euro 2020 Fantasy Team

Euro 2020 is just a matter of days away and the race is on to get your Fantasy Team ready for Friday’s opening match — which will see Italy take on Turkey at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.

With Roberto Mancini’s side heading into the tournament unbeaten in over 25 games, a lot is expected of the Azzurri and the latest Euro 2020 supercomputer from bookmaker Casumo is even predicting the Italians to make it all the way to the final — where they will ultimately be beaten by France.

However, with a run deep into the tournament on the cards, you’ll need Italians within your Fantasy Team’s ranks. So, without further ado, here are the supercomputer’s three picks. Read on to find out more!

GK: Gianluigi Donnarumma

With time running out on Gianluigi Donnarumma’s contract at AC Milan, this is going to be a massive summer for the 22-year-old, and he’s tipped to step-up to the mark at his first major international tournament. With Italy set to face Wales and Switzerland alongside Turkey in Group A, Donnarumma’s points will rack up with clean sheets aplenty. The supercomputer also revealed that Italy will then concede just once en route to the final. With Donnarumma set to form a brick wall between the sticks, it’s no surprise he’s set to be in the Team of the Tournament and he’s must have in your fantasy squad.

RB: Giovanni Di Lorenzo

Giovanni Di Lorenzo faces stiff competition from Alessandro Florenzi at right-back. However, the supercomputer tipped the Napoli defender to pip his Paris Saint-Germain counterpart to the starting berth. The 27-year-old is not only a solid defensive option for Mancini, he is just as good getting forward. So, your points will be racked up from clean sheets and possibly even the odd assist.

MID: Nicolò Barella

After helping Inter Milan win their first Serie A title in a decade, Nicolò Barella is heading into the Euros riding on the crest of a wave, and he’s tipped to be a rock in midfield for the Italians — starting all seven games as they reach the final. He scored in the Azzurri’s final warm-up match against the Czech Republic, and Mancini will certainly be hoping for similar performances at the main event.

With the supercomputer predicting France to reign victorious, it’s no surprise to see Raphaël Varane, Benjamin Pavard and Kylian Mbappé also featuring in the Team of the Tournament, whilst Dutch striker Wout Weghorst, who is 35/1 to win the Golden Boot in the Euro 2020 top goal scorer odds, is perhaps the most surprising admission.
