To commemorate Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee, Sutton Council and its partners have organised a programme of events for all ages.

At 9.45pm on 2 June, Jubilee Beacons will be lit in St Helier Open Space and Cheam Park by The Mayor of Sutton and one of our Community Award winners. Entertainment will be provided by Sutton Music Service and all residents are invited to attend these free events.

These Beacons are two of thousands being lit in the UK at that precise time, as part of the official programme announced by Buckingham Palace for the Jubilee Weekend.

In addition, more than 150 street parties will be held across the Borough after the Council waived fees to help communities come together to celebrate across the Jubilee weekend.

Other events taking place include a Jubilee Fun Day at Sutton Life Centre on 31 May, crafts and trails at Sutton’s Historic Houses, a party on Sutton High Street on Friday 3 June, and much more.

Sutton residents are encouraged to share photos of their celebrations by tagging the Council (@SuttonCouncil) on Twitter or Facebook, and to become part of history by submitting their photos to Sutton Archives (local.studies@sutton.gov.uk).
