Sikh influencer offers support to young women growing up without a female role model

A Sikh beauty and lifestyle influencer is using her platform to offer support to young women growing up without a female figure in their lives.

Erim Kaur, 26, posts daily on her Instagram page ‘@Erim’, showcasing her newest outfits against chatty, engaging captions. From all things self-love to fashion tips, to family stories, Erim shares her personal thoughts and feelings with all 221K of her followers.

“I want to make sure no other girl grows up feeling alone,” explains the beauty guru, who tragically lost her mum aged 8, subsequently growing up in a predominantly male household.

“I used to work at a fancy bar which meant getting dressed up every day. Before work, I’d get my friends to take pictures of me in my outfits and would then post them online.”

In 2017, Erim, who is based in London, hit 5,000 followers on Instagram as a result of posting frequent fashion content.

“I’ve been working since I was 14 years old. I received a first-class degree in International Management with American Business from the University of Manchester and worked the entire time I was there. I would intern in Social Media Marketing 9-5:30pm and then work in the bar 9pm-3am.

“By the time I hit 110K followers, I decided to become a fulltime influencer and invest all of my time into growing the platform.” Spreading the message of sisterhood is at the core of Erim’s platform.

Following huge success online, Erim launched her haircare brand, ByErim which had a one-million-pound turnover last year. Currently stocking the Luxury Hair & Beard Oil and Luxury Hairbrush, ByErim was founded in response to constant requests from Erim’s followers to share her haircare secrets.

An all-round female boss, Erim’s hard-work and determination has led to her becoming Pandora’s UK Ambassador.
