SEGA TO OPEN POP-UP RESTAURANT SERVING CLASSIC STUDENT STAPLES TO CELEBRATE TWO POINT CAMPUS LAUNCH

SEGA Europe Limited and Two Point Studios™ have today announced it will be opening a one-of-a-kind culinary experience in Shoreditch, London, on Tuesday 9th August to celebrate the launch of the highly anticipated university management sim Two Point Campus™.

Two Point Canteen has partnered with Miguel Barclay, the One Pound Meals chef and best-selling author, to offer a bespoke menu of elevated student classics inspired by findings which revealed the UK’s favourite university dishes, including cereal mug cakes, turkey spirals poutine and ramen on toast.

New research* revealed that four out of five (82%) university graduates still eat their favourite meals that they made during their years as a student, with a third (32%) admitting it makes them feel nostalgic and a quarter (27%) wishing they could enjoy their university dishes more often without being judged. The Two Point Canteen is a safe space where diners can embrace their heyday by tucking into a range of breakfast-at-dinner options and fine dining takes on some staple student meals.

Whether you were the type who thought putting crisps in a sandwich made all the sense in the world, or you had to wrestle with limited kitchen appliances and cooked everything in the toaster or the microwave, Two Point Canteen is sure to bring those nostalgic memories of gastronomic experiments from the best years of your life flooding back.

Whilst gorging themselves on the gourmet goodness, visitors and revellers will have the opportunity to play the delightful Two Point Campus on PC and consoles.

Miguel Barclay is the mastermind behind the #onepoundmeals phenomenon so, in true student style, visitors will be able to get their hands on a complete menu for just £1 – cheap and cheerful! All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Trussell Trust, an anti-poverty charity which supports a nationwide network of more than 1,300 food bank centres.

Miguel Barclay, the One Pound Meals chef and best-selling author, said: “My time at university was not only the best years of my life, but also where my love of food really took hold. From limited ingredients to even more barebones student kitchens, it really fostered a sense of experimentation and joy in cooking. Putting together this menu was an exercise in nostalgia for me and I can’t wait for people to get stuck in and relive those great memories.”

Gary Carr, Studio Director at Two Point Studios, said: “Two Point Campus has been a labour of love for us as we really wanted to celebrate and honour the best parts of university life, from the extracurricular activities and forming meaningful relationships, to graduating and preparing to kickstart their careers. I think we all get nostalgic thinking about the role that food played during those unique years, and we all remember the first time we baked some turkey spirals and almost burned down the kitchen! We couldn’t be more excited to have partnered with Miguel to celebrate some of the most iconic student meals that everyone remembers.”

In addition to the food and hands-on opportunities with the game, there will be a bar serving a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, alongside plenty of board games to recreate those halcyon student union vibes.
