Petite Pantos brings two Pride events to Stanley Arts

Last year, Mama G (who normally travels the UK telling children and their families stories about being who you are and loving who you want) took Pride online while live Pride events were cancelled because of Covid restrictions. This year, she is combining the best of both worlds.

Mama G’s Family Pride Party will be a live, in person event at Stanley Arts in South London. Anyone further away can still join in by watching the event online via Zoom. All tickets, both in person and online are for a Pay-What-You-Can donation with all profits going to Mermaids UK.

“Mama G is the perfect host… sensationally endearing, sparkly and witty… perfectly suited for all audiences.”

Mama G’s Family Pride Party will be taking place on Sunday 4th July from 10am to 6pm. It’s aimed entirely at families and will include a wide variety of participants that celebrate the diversity of the LGBTQIA+ community and allies. Audiences can dip in and out throughout the day to find events and activities they will enjoy at the times that suit family needs and routines.
The full schedule will be published soon so families can drop in and out to the events that they want to see. And there will be lots to see and do with acts including…

90s pop sensation Lolly, award winning musical comedian Katie Pritchard and the world-famous fabric pachyderm Elmer the Patchwork Elephant. You’ll keep your energy up with Drag Aerobics, get in the groove with Vogue Workshops, there will be music from BBC’s Let it Shine 1/4 finalist Craig Webb and Britain’s Got Talent Golden Buzzer winning Crumble Lady – Lorraine Bowen. You can get a taste of Stile’s and Drewe’s 3 Little Pigs (full show coming to Stanley Arts in July) and of course Mama G will be telling some of her fantasic stories encouraging everyone to be who they are and love who they want. Not to mention appearances by Dan Westwood, Ada Campe, puppetry as well as market stalls, face painting and picnic packed lunches can purchased in advance from Stanley Arts…

“I found myself on more than one occasion misty-eyed with just the sheer goodness of it all… it comes from an authentic place and I saw that connection in the eyes of the children.”

The event will be raising funds for Mermaids, a UK wide charity that supports transgender and gender non-conforming youth and their families. Mermaids’ overarching aim is to create a world where gender diverse children and young people can be themselves and thrive.
