ME London announces the art residency of renowned artist Victoria Topping

ME London Hotel, a home of art, culture, music, and design is proud to announce the art residency of renowned artist Victoria Topping in the hotel’s distinguished Marconi Lounge.

Victoria Topping is an internationally recognised artist and illustrator. With more than a decade of professional experience, Victoria has held solo exhibitions across the UK and Europe. With an ever-evolving creative practice that fuses digital and traditional techniques, Victoria has created a distinct visual language in her work, incorporating vivid colour, bold forms and recurring motifs. Predominantly known for her printmaking, Victoria is now increasingly focused on creating original pieces; one-off multimedia works that sit at the interface of collage and painting.

Victoria works in mixed media to create vibrant prints, digital paintings and collages, she often uses black and white photographs as the foundation of each piece, then adds bright colours and colourful shapes to embellish the artwork further. Characterised by the bold pinks and reds of her palette, Victoria’s art jumps off the page. Victoria combines traditional elements of portraiture and design with the unique appearance of digital art, resulting in a collection of entirely original artworks. Enhanced by the sheer sizes of each piece, Victoria creates art that is immediately compelling.

Drawing influence from varied and disparate sources – everything from high camp disco sleeves to 1950s technical drawing manuals, from exotic flora and fauna to traditional folk art – Victoria’s work achieves a synthesis that is at once both unique and familiar. Her singular style has caught the eye of many businesses, and she’s carried out branding, illustration and graphic briefs for numerous festivals, nightclubs, wine producers and record labels.

ME London will host the exhibition from October 20th to January 10th, 2022. Guests are welcome to view the artwork at Marconi Lounge daily between 10am and 8 pm.
