MADKIT ANNOUNCES LINE-UP FOR NEW COMEDY AND CABARET SHOW AT BUSH HALL: ‘HAUNTED HALL’ INCLUDING TIM KEY, SIKISA AND JORDAN BROOKES

New company MadKit, founded by producers Maddy Bye and Kitty Wordsworth, today announces the legendary line-up for its inaugural show, HAUNTED HALL – a raucous new night of comedy and cabaret on 28 October at Bush Hall, one of west London’s most thrilling venues. Crystal Rasmussen will host the evening, with Tim Key, Sikisa, Jordan Brookes, Siblings, Celya AB and Jordan Gray joined by a live band led by Asha Lorenz of Sorry and followed by DJs. Audiences are invited to dress up in their spookiest costumes and enjoy Halloween-themed cocktails during and after the show. MadKit is delighted to present the most red-hot Halloween ticket in town, with some of the weirdest and wildest performers on the UK circuit.

LINE-UP

CELYA AB is a sharp, exciting stand up. Winner of Birmingham Breaking Talent and a Funny Women 2019 finalist, she has featured on Radio 4’s News Quiz, BBC2’s Funny Festival Live and Comedy Central’s Yesterday, Today & The Day Before (2021). Steve Bennett of Chortle called her: “A strong comic. Both classy and funny. A thoroughly engaging presence and very promising writer who seems to know her place in the world.”

JORDAN BROOKES is an actor, writer and comedian. He is winner of the 2019 Dave’s Edinburgh Comedy Award – two years after he was also nominated for the same accolade. He also won the Comedians’ Comedian award at the 2018 Chortle Awards. He first came to attention when he won the Welsh Unsigned Comedy Award in 2012.

JORDAN GRAY is a comedian and recording artist and is the creator and co-star of the record-breaking Comedy Central series Transaction. Beyond comedy, she is perhaps best known for being the first ever transgender contestant on The Voice, reaching the semi-finals in 2016.

TIM KEY is an actor, writer, and performance poet. He has won the Edinburgh Comedy Award, and been nominated three times for the Barry and once for the Malcolm Hardee Award for Comic Originality. On screen he plays Sidekick Simon in the Alan Partridge franchise and has appeared in The Double, Inside Number 9 and Peep Show. More recently he has been seen in Pls Like, Greed and The End of the F***ing World. Tim’s radio show, Tim Key’s Late Night Poetry Programme, has run for years on BBC Radio 4, with a fifth series recording in autumn. Tim also starred in Art at The Old Vic and continues to write and perform his own five-star live shows. Most recently, he made the critically acclaimed Megadate, which he performed at The Old Vic before adapting it into a Bafta- nominated BBC1 short, with the subtly different title: Wonderdate.

CRYSTAL RASMUSSEN is a best-selling author, five-star songstress, dom in life, sub in bed and a trained deep-sea diver.

SIBLINGS is a comedy double act featuring IRL sisters Maddy and Marina Bye, who have performed across the UK in festivals and on the live circuit, selling out three consecutive Edinburgh Fringe runs and an extended run at Soho Theatre in 2019. Called “ferociously funny” by The Guardian, Siblings is a cacophony of characters and sketches. Winners of Best of the Fringe Brighton Fringe 2021

SIKISA won the public’s vote in the 2017 BBC New Comedy Award competition, for which she was a finalist. Since then, her TV appearances include Jonathan Ross’ Comedy Club (ITV), The Dog Ate My Homework (CBBC), Pie And A Pint (Comedy Central) and Period Dramas (BBC 3). Her radio and podcast credits include Lemonade and Wheel of Misfortune (BBC Radio 1), The Leak and Mach Fest (BBC Radio Wales). She is also a regular writer on Newsjack (BBC Radio 4). She is currently working on her debut stand-up hour, for which was nominated for Best Newcomer at the Leicester Comedy Festival 2020. She was also nominated for Best Show at the Leicester Comedy Festival 2021.
