LinkedIn opens The Jobs Shed to help grow careers

The Jobs Shed by LinkedIn is opening this June to help people grow their careers.

As new research from LinkedIn, the world’s largest professional community, finds that 62 percent of UK employees feel a renewed sense of optimism about opportunities post-lockdown, and 42 percent are looking to make a new job a priority now that lockdown is over, the two-day event has been designed to help get their professional lives back on track after a challenging year. The use of platforms like LinkedIn can help those who are trying to connect with new people and businesses, that is why there is now an opportunity to buy Linkedin likes as well as other influential resources, for people who want to strengthen their status online.

Planted on a stunning rooftop in central London, the free, socially-distanced, two-day event will help people ready for a career change and those looking to cultivate their current one.

As well as complimentary refreshments and goody bags, attendees will have the chance to speak with career experts, LinkedIn advisors, and a host of big brands who is currently hiring. The Jobs Shed activities include:

Tools of the trade – receive advice from LinkedIn career experts, who will also be on hand to help build LinkedIn profiles which stand out to employers and recruiters.

Seeds of change – meet recruiters and hiring managers from companies, such as Patch Plants, with live job opportunities. Discuss skills and experience, find out more about the company and its roles, and potentially land an on-the-spot interview.

Roots to success – listen to a talk from Sarah Ellis, one of the authors of The Sunday Times Bestseller The Squiggly Career, who will share her job history, tips on building a professional community and answer questions from attendees.

Photo-synthesis – get a free professional head-shot taken by our on-site photographer (and then update your LinkedIn profile picture).

Grow bags – leave with a 50 Patch Plant gift voucher, your own copy of The Squiggly Career book and LinkedIn’s Job Search Guide.

Darain Faraz, Director, Brand Marketing at LinkedIn: “After a challenging year, it’s amazing to see green shoots of optimism emerging – people feel like they can start looking forward and giving their careers the attention they deserve. That’s why we’ve launched The Jobs Shed, to help get the great British workforce back on track after a tumultuous year.”

As social distancing guidelines will be observed, numbers are limited to no more than 30 attendees at any one time. While guests are welcome to attend with a friend, colleague or partner, everyone will be asked to register for their own ticket.

The Jobs Shed is part of LinkedIn’s latest, integrated campaign designed to shine a light on the unique benefits of the platform. The event reflects the message of its current TV-led campaign which plays on the visual of a neglected house plant coming back to life to reflect a renewed sense of hopefulness amongst UK workers – showing how ‘small steps’ can lead to a brighter future.

Guests can share their experience at the Jobs Shed with the hashtag #KeepGrowing.
