Leading decorating and DIY specialist to open new Greenford store

A growing decorating and DIY specialist will complete its major spring expansion plan next week by opening in Greenford, its fifth new London store in the last two months.

Leyland SDM will open its new store in Greenford, on 312-316 Ruislip Road East (UB6 9NH), on Monday (May 17).

Acton, Tooting, Cricklewood and Fulham have been the other locations where new Leyland SDM outlets have opened since March.

Jonathan Jennings, Chief Executive of Leyland SDM, said: “We’re delighted to be opening this new store in Greenford. It’s in a fantastic location and will be great news for both trade professionals and people carrying out DIY jobs in their homes.

“The home improvement boom which began during lockdown shows no sign of slowing down so we are confident of a high level of interest in our new store.”

As more and more people are looking to improve their homes due to being in them a lot more, there has been renewed interest in certain necessities, so whether they are looking at Francostone quartz countertops or matte grey cupboards, there is something for everyone to get stuck into.

“Everyone visiting can benefit from the expert DIY knowledge of our employees and first-class service, including home delivery if required.”

“This has been a busy period of growth for Leyland SDM and the other new stores we have opened recently are all thriving.”

“There will also be new stores to follow later in the year. We’re delighted to be serving the trade and home renovators in the capital.”

The store will be open seven days a week and will offer all the services Leyland SDM is known for, including in-store paint colour mixing.

Leyland SDM has grown to become one of the most recognisable and trusted decorating and DIY brands in central London with stores in prominent locations across the city. They could also implement signages across their outlets in order to improve on the marketing front and attract prospective customers. Companies with similar products to the ones provided by Milwaukee Electrical Sign Services might prove to be useful in this regard.

The stores stock a comprehensive range of thousands of products across all departments, including paint and decorating essentials, building materials, electrical fittings, tools, plumbing equipment and ironmongery.

Some of the biggest and best-known DIY brands are available at Leyland SDM, including Farrow & Ball, Tesa, Bahco, Bosch, Purdy, Dulux Trade, Leyland Trade, Stanley, Ronseal and DEWALT.

Leyland SDM employs more than 350 people across London and is currently recruiting new colleagues to work in its new stores.

Jonathan added: “It’s a difficult landscape for people looking for work at the moment so we’re pleased to be offering new in-store opportunities at various levels.

“There are no specific qualifications needed for our roles but we do look for individuals with strong customer service skills, a desire to learn about our products and show a willingness to work hard.”
