IKEA TO HOST FREE ACTIVITES TO CELERBATE THE QUEEN’S JUBILEE

IKEA has announced it will be hosting a range of activities over the Queen’s Jubilee weekend. Customers of all ages can celebrate the royal milestone with delicious Swedish food and crafty souvenirs, while receiving hosting tips for the bank holiday and beyond.

Taking place from Thursday 2nd – Sunday 5th June, the activities will be led by IKEA co-workers, providing inspiration and expertise to customers in store.

Those looking for a taste of summer can learn how to prepare an afternoon tea with a Swedish twist. Enjoy a Royal Afternoon Fika with open salmon sandwiches, cinnamon buns, KAFFERPREP pastries and biscuits and Daim cake, with a variety of EGENTID teas. While for those after some table setting inspiration, sessions on creating the perfect layout for summer hosting will be available, as a chef demonstrates how to host the ultimate BBQ.

Commemorating 70 years of the Queen’s reign, children can ignite their creativity and join drop-in workshops as they make a mini souvenir of the Queen’s guard, or their very own royal crown. The simple yet sustainable activities encourage kids to get crafty, while inspiring them to repurpose items laying around the house, from wooden lolly sticks to leftover cardboard.

And to help remember the Queen’s Jubilee for many years to come, adults and kids alike can create a souvenir to mark the occasion by getting involved in a Memory Mug workshop. Customers can choose from a range of stencils for painting, or try their hand at free styling, to design their own unique mug to take home and remember the historic milestone.

Gunay Ertem, Store Manager at IKEA Wembley, commented: “The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee is such a momentous milestone, and we know that people will be keen to celebrate. That’s why we’re delighted to be hosting a range of fun and free activities for all the whole family to enjoy, while they make the most of the long bank holiday weekend. Whether customers are looking for a way to entertain the kids, fancy learning some new tips ready for hosting over the summer, or just want to celebrate with friends and family, we’re looking forward to welcoming customers in store to mark the occasion together.”
