Glenfiddich and Hotel Café Royal create a tranquil luxury escape in the heart of London this winter

Glenfiddich, The World’s Most Awarded Single Malt Scotch Whisky*, has partnered with iconic 5-star Hotel Café Royal, to create a serene winter experience within the Green Bar – titled ‘Escape to the Valley of the Deer’. Found in the Speyside region of Scotland, nestled in the foothills of The Cairngorms, the Valley of the Deer is where Glenfiddich takes its Gaelic name from and makes its whisky. The ‘Escape to the Valley of the Deer’ bar and dining experience is a true combination of elegance and luxury, allowing visitors to enjoy a moment of serenity amidst the busyness of Christmas shopping in the capital from the start of December until 28th February 2022, at its central London Air Street location, just off Piccadilly and Regent Street.

The experience kicks off with a limited-edition whisky dessert pairing menu created by Hotel Café Royal’s award winning Head Pastry Chef, Michael Kwan. Boasting a unique set of sweet couplings, the menu includes a Pistachio Macaroon to be paired with Glenfiddich 21 Year Old Gran Reserva, a Nyangbo chocolate ganache paired with Glenfiddich 23 Year Old Grand Cru, and a Vanilla Caramel candy paired with Glenfiddich 26 Year Old Grande Couronne. Alongside this is a bespoke menu of Glenfiddich cocktails including the Glenfiddich High Ball, Whisky Sour, Old Fashioned, and Sazerac.

The ideal retreat away from the seasonal London crowds, guests will be transported from Piccadilly to Hotel Café Royal’s Green Bar through an illuminated mirrored valley portal. With floral styling by the esteemed Mary Lennox studio, the bar will be brought to life through stunning preserved grass and floral arrangements bursting with energy, juxtaposed against the stark metallic and stone interior and abstracted brass antlers representing Glenfiddich’s iconic Stag logo. The scenic and picturesque escape continues on the terrace, with an opulent, bespoke designed heated seating area, balancing neutral and soft finishings with glass and metal surfaces. The Green Bar has been designed for this experience by multi-disciplinary creative studio 5HT to create a warm, calm atmosphere from the inside out.

The Green Bar, renowned as one of the best bars in the capital, has been celebrating cocktails and mixology since 1965, and its focus on 1920s and 1930s era tipples make it a staple location for enjoying a Glenfiddich cocktail of choice. An opportunity to sample some of the finest concoctions, the marriage of Glenfiddich and Hotel Café Royal is the height of sophistication and a real treat for those looking for some escape and relaxation in central London this winter season, having perhaps spent some time shopping in nearby Fortnum & Mason, The Whisky Shop and Hedonism Wines, for example.
