Rah Rah Theatre Company has now cast their classic panto, Dick Whittington at Chelsea Theatre and are delighted to announce that Beatrice John, Gemskii and Matthew Peter-Carter will be bringing their talents to this multi-role production.

Playing the role of Dick Whittington is Beatrice John. Beatrice recently graduated from the MA Acting course at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts and this pantomime marks her first professional debut.

Gemskii is a theatre performer with credits at the Royal Court, National Theatre and Salford’s Lowry Centre and recently played Oberon in Midsummer Night’s Dream to critical acclaim. Having worked on a number of previous Rah Rah Theatre productions, Gemskii is taking the roles of The Cook and Lady Fitzwarren in Dick Whittington.

Matthew Peter-Carter is playing the part of the Cat, Captain Barnacle and Alice. He is an actor-musician and writer who graduated from RCSSD, and prior to that, the University of Oxford. Previous credits include Sing for your Supper (Chiswick Playhouse and regional tour), Brass (The Union Theatre), Auntie Mame (RADA Studios), and Cinderella and Jack and the Beanstalk (West End in Schools). He is also the Creative Director of Book Club Bunch – actor-led book clubs and fun discussions for children.

Full of music, dance and comedy, the show promises to bring a vibrant and interactive experience with plenty of Christmas spirit for audiences of all ages as Dick and his cat embark on their hilarious adventures on the road to love and riches. And for Dick Whittington takes his rightful place as Lord Mayor of London.

Rah Rah Theatre Company have been touring pantomimes for over 20 years. All their productions are interactive and aim to encourage audiences to join in as much as possible to create a memorable experience. Both Chelsea Theatre and Rah Rah believe that the experience of theatre should be available to all and are committed to offering a number of free shows to local schools, community groups and the elderly.

After a refurbishment and the prolonged closure, the Chelsea Theatre finally opened their doors back in the summer to welcome audiences from across London as part of the Kensington + Chelsea Festival. The theatre’s success has continued over the Autumn with a diverse programme of community events and professional performances – from wrestling to theatre, film screenings to art exhibitions – the theatre’s aim is to reflect and serve the diverse communities from the World’s End area, across the borough and the wider city.

“After such a lengthy closure, being able to open the theatre and welcome audiences and artists has been a joy. And now, working with Rah Rah Theatre Company to bring some much needed festive cheer with this classic panto is the perfect culmination to our year and a testament to all the hard work from Chelsea Theatre staff, communities and collaborators.” Explains Paul Adlam, General Manager
