Attic Self Storage Acquires Prominent Site in North London

Attic Self Storage, the professional and premium self-storage operator backed by Metric Capital Partners llp, today announces that it will be expanding its footprint with the acquisition of a prominent site in Enfield, North London. This follows the success of its current locations in King’s Cross, Bow, Marylebone and Harrow.

The North London site will support the company’s ambition to deliver 10-15 new stores across London over the next five years.

Conveniently located on the A10, Attic is currently working with the London Borough of Enfield to deliver a high-quality new build scheme, sympathetic with the local area, which in addition to the self storage space would aim to include a community focused zone to help with the provision of affordable space for local projects.

All Attic sites are staffed 7 days a week, offering 24hr access for customers, and the Company’s ethos is to support local communities through initiatives such as donations to small, local charities, recruiting locally, and paying the London Living Wage as a minimum.

The demand for storage space by both business and domestic users continues to grow, driven by changing business needs and the desire to create more space in the home following the pandemic. A recent survey identified that more than 1 in 3 people in London do not have sufficient storage space in their homes. In addition, more than 80% of respondents believe that it’s either likely or very likely that they will need self-storage space in the future.*

CEO, Frederic de Ryckman de Betz, comments: “We are delighted to extend the Attic portfolio with this new acquisition in Enfield. We are looking forward to working with local stakeholders to deliver 90,000 feet of regenerated space, integrating ourselves into the local community.”

Attic has also achieved another significant milestone in the company’s growth plans this month with the commencement of building works to deliver their next opening at a site in Claps Gate, Beckton, which they acquired in 2020. This site will deliver an additional 60,000 square feet of flexible self storage space to serve London and the local community, and follows the opening of the Harrow store in May 2021.

From being the first to offer online check in and account management in 2016, to introducing the latest innovations including work-space pods and app-controlled electronic locks – Attic puts the customer at the heart of the business and aims to make the storage process as simple as possible with world class service.
